Public demo — launching in the Netherlands

Your identity is nobody's business.

Sign in with your passkey — your device's face, fingerprint or PIN. Your data stays yours — you decide who sees what, every time.

The problem

Passwords are the weakest link on the internet. Stolen, reused, forgotten — billions of them leak every year. So we removed them entirely.

Step by step

Five moments, start to finish.

  1. 1

    Step 1 of 5

    Create your YourID

Enter your email and we send you a 6-digit code, valid for 10 minutes. Then you create a passkey — and that's your account.

    • The private key is generated on your device and stays there (or in your platform's passkey sync, like iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager).
    • You unlock it with your face, fingerprint or device PIN.
    • YourID stores only the public key. There is no password at all — nothing to guess, reuse or leak.
  2. 2

    Step 2 of 5

Sign in anywhere you see “Login with YourID”

The site sends you to YourID, you confirm with your passkey, and you're sent straight back. It's built on OpenID Connect with PKCE — the same open standard behind most “Sign in with…” buttons.

    • No new account, no new password for each site.
    • Your passkey only works on YourID's real address, so a look-alike site can't use it.
  3. 4

    Step 4 of 5

    Stay in control afterwards

Your dashboard lists every connected service and exactly which fields it can see. One tap revokes access — its tokens stop working immediately.

    • An activity log shows your sign-ins and consents.
    • Sign out other devices; add, rename or remove passkeys.
    • Delete your account and your data is removed from our live database immediately.
    • Data a service already received falls under that service's own privacy policy.
  4. 5

    Step 5 of 5

Lost your phone? You're not locked out

Sign in on another device with a code sent to your email, add a new passkey there, and remove the lost phone's passkey in Settings.

    • Using a synced passkey? It comes back on your new phone by itself.
    • Once you remove the lost phone's passkey, it can never be used to sign in again.

Try it yourself

What does the shop see?

Flip the switches. On the left is the kind of consent screen you see in YourID. On the right is exactly what the service gets back.

You add a bottle of wine to your bouquet. The shop has to check that you're over 18.

What Bloemist Van Dijk receives

1 of 4 shared

Bloemist Van Dijk learns one thing: you're over 18. Not your name, not your birthday.

Fictional demo service and sample data. Simplified illustration. Field names follow the OpenID Connect standard.

In practice

Share less, in every situation.

Four examples of how it works. The services below are fictional demos we built to show the flow. They are not customers.

Bloemist Van DijkFictional example

Prove you're 18 without giving your birthday.

The flower shop also sells wine. Instead of asking for an ID scan or your date of birth, it asks YourID one question: is this person over 18? The answer is yes or no.

  • Over 18: yes

Your data

Every connection. One switch.

See every service that can read part of your identity, what exactly it sees, and revoke it with one tap. Consent that actually means something.

Under the hood

How a passkey works.

No password and no shared secret. Just a bit of maths only your device can do.

Step 1 of 4

Nothing secret ever travels. Your face or fingerprint never leaves your device, and a passkey only works on the site it was made for, so a look-alike phishing site gets nothing.

Side by side

How YourID compares.

An honest look at the two ways most people sign in today.

A secret on the server that can leak

Passwords
Yes. Every site keeps a copy of your password (usually hashed).
Login with Google / Facebook
Your provider account usually still has a password.
YourID
No. YourID stores only public keys.

The login provider sees where you sign in

Passwords
No provider in between.
Login with Google / Facebook
Typically yes, and that can feed its wider profile of you.
YourID
YourID sees your connections, to show them to you. No ads, never sold.

You choose what's shared, field by field

Passwords
You type details in by hand on every site.
Login with Google / Facebook
Usually a set profile bundle such as name, email and photo.
YourID
Yes. You approve each field.

Age check without your birthdate

Passwords
No.
Login with Google / Facebook
Not typically.
YourID
Yes, a yes or no for 18+ — once ID verification is live (coming soon).

Resistant to phishing

Passwords
No. A fake page can capture them.
Login with Google / Facebook
Depends on how you secure your provider account.
YourID
Yes. Passkeys only work on the real site.

Cut off one service

Passwords
Change your password or delete that account.
Login with Google / Facebook
Possible in your provider's settings.
YourID
One tap. Its access is cut off immediately.

Social logins differ per provider and settings. This table describes the typical case.

Questions

Good questions.

  • YourID is a free digital identity from Stichting YourID, a Dutch foundation. You sign in to websites with a passkey instead of a password, and you decide field by field what each service gets to see — for example only that you're over 18, never your birthdate. YourID is in private beta.

0
